Adjusting Blower Trim - Daikin One Thermostat

Adjusting the blower trim (or airflow trim) on a Daikin One+ thermostat is an advanced setting typically found in the Installer Menu. This allows you to fine-tune the fan speed for cooling or heating to better manage humidity or noise.

Accessing the Blower Trim Settings

  1. Enter Dealer Mode: From the home screen, tap the Menu icon (top left). Press and hold the Installer Edit or Dealer Edit button for about 5 seconds to unlock the restricted settings.

  2. Go to Equipment Setup: Select Equipment Setup and then navigate to the Indoor Unit (Furnace or Air Handler) section.

  3. Locate Airflow Trim: Look for a tab or menu labeled Cool Settings or Heat Settings. Inside these, you will find the Cool Airflow Trim or Heat Airflow Trim options.

  4. Adjust the Trim: You can typically adjust the trim for different stages (Low, Intermediate, and High speed).

    • Increasing the trim (+): Increases airflow (CFM), which can help if the air feels weak but may reduce dehumidification.

    • Decreasing the trim (-): Decreases airflow, which is often done to increase "hang time" over the coils for better dehumidification.

  5. Save and Exit: Ensure you tap Continue or Save through the screens to apply the changes.

Important Considerations

  • System Profiles: Some Daikin systems use Cooling Profiles (A, B, C, or D) which automatically adjust blower behavior. Changing the trim manually will override these defaults.

  • Professional Calibration: Daikin recommends that only trained personnel perform these adjustments, as improper airflow can lead to frozen coils or reduced equipment lifespan.
