Daikin Comfort Technologies North America, Inc. is issuing this service bulletin to provide guidance related to system behavior observed during external power disturbances, such as brownouts or momentary power interruptions, which are outside of Daikin’s control. In certain regions with unstable or insufficient local power conditions, these conditions may result in E30 fault codes and, in some cases, PCB failure in select Daikin FIT, Amana® brand S-series, and Goodman SD outdoor units as identified in Table 1.
To further enhance system tolerance to erratic voltage conditions, Daikin has implemented design enhancements to the PCB hardware and software. These enhancements improve resilience to power fluctuations but do not change normal system operation under stable power conditions.
Service & Field Repairs
• For systems already installed that are experiencing repeated E30 fault codes in areas with confirmed unstable power, replacing the PCB replacement with the updated design is recommended.
• In locations with stable power and no history of E30 faults, existing PCB inventory may continue to be used until inventories have been depleted. The updated PCB is intended to improve robustness specifically in environments prone to voltage instability.
• Updated service replacement PCBs are now being shipped and can be identified by new part numbers. Please see table below with the updated part numbers. New Parts Tonnage Old Part # New Part # 1-1/2 & 2 Ton 2545135 2573265 2-1/2 & 3 Ton 2559717 2573266
See attached bulletin for full information. Thanks!
