Here are a few documents with accessories and design for ION communicating systems.
ION Controls WILL NOT work with *MVE ( Two Stage Variable) furnaces.
Only One ION per Zoned System, Smart sensors for other/additional zones.
ION will not control humidity on cooling only setup, Must have heating mode available.
Humidity is read at the ION only. No remote sensors for humidity.
Controls:
Ion System Control with Wi-Fi® Remote Access Capability -Part Number: SYST0101CW
Ion Communicating Relay Module -Part Number: (CRM) SYST0101RM* *.
Required for dual fuel applications with non-communicating heat pumps, and for use with 2-stage, non-communicating AC or HP. If using a heat pump that the reversing valve is energized in heat (B terminal), you must use a relay to reverse the signal.
Zoning Controls:
Ion Zoning System Damper Control Module (4 Zone) -Part Number: SYST0101ZP* *
One Damper Control Module for up to 4 zones.
A second Damper Control Module is required for zones 5–8. NOTE: Each piece of the zoning equipment is purchased separately allowing for customization of the zoning application
Another Note: IO Controls has their CD series dampers that will work with the ION zone panel. The caveat to this is that you cannot have a ION damper and a IO CD damper wired in parallel on the same zone. IO says it causes a weird feedback voltage that stops the zone dampers from working properly. However you can have ION zone dampers on one zone and IO CD dampers on another zone and it will work.

*Wired Remote Room Sensors A Remote Room Sensor can be used with the Ion System Control to take the place of the control’s internal temperature sensor. This allows the Ion System Control to be mounted in areas with less than optimal airflow (such as near an exterior door, window or in a closet). The remote sensor can be wired to the terminal block connectors labeled S1 and S2 at the control’s backplate, or the ZS1 and ZS1C connection at the Damper Control Module. In either case, the Ion Control will automatically detect the Remote Room Sensor and ignore its internal temperature sensor. NOTE: Humidity sensing will occur ONLY at the Ion System Control. The wired Remote Room Sensor does NOT have humidity sensing capability.
*Wired Remote Room Sensor Averaging Typically, one wired remote sensor is used but, multiple wired sensors may be used and averaged in some applications. Averaging requires a special series-parallel wiring method with a specific number of sensors. See figure below. It is also important to note the humidity sensor cannot be remotely located, so do not locate the Ion System Control in an area where
humidity sensing may not be accurate.
