SERVICE TIPS:
- Goodman 2 stage ecm furnaces will have board with a 3 digit display but this unit does not have the blue tooth capability. All setting to be done using the menus and push buttons to navigate.
- These furnaces are setup from the factory to have a 2 stage thermostat connected. If you are going to use single stage thermostat you must change this setting upon startup.
- When setting up blower speeds for heat mode, GAf will be the menu item on single stage furnaces. While GA1 and GA2 will be menu items for two stage equipment.
- Errors will Have "EE" or "E" in the display. For example "EE2" or "EEJ".
- The code " IDL " or if you are reading board upside down," 7P1 " is strictly saying that the furnace is idle with no call. This is not a fault code.
- If you are getting the inducer relay fault, EEJ or EEj, you will first want to verify grounding. This is the number one issue. Another thing we have seen is outside electrical issues. It could be a pump or some of appliance on the same leg of the furnace. We have also seen where the insulation on the incoming wire was rubbed off and would arc every once in awhile and kill the inducer relay because it was the weakest circuit in the house. If you have changed a board due to this, be sure to check all the other items we listed before putting on another.
