The factory is aware that there have been an increased number of reports of HK06WC061 pressure switch failures. Most switches have failed in a stuck closed condition although there are some reports of switches failing in a stuck open condition. In either condition, the equipment will safely cease operation as designed.

To resolve this issue, Carrier has taken several actions regarding 1172197 Pressure Switch.

1.) Effective Week 2 of 2024, the SRT and MRT products started using a new switch with part number 1206256.

2.) On or about Week 5 of 2024, the SPP products will also start using the new 1206256 pressure switch, but only on a temporary basis. The factory expects to return to the 1172197 part for the SPP products once it receives parts manufactured by a different supplier.

3.) The 1172197 switch and the new 1206256 switch can be used interchangeably for field replacements.

4.) Replacement Components has set-up and is stocking the new 1206256 pressure switch. RC will also continue to stock the 1172197 pressure switch manufactured by a different supplier.

a. RC will be temporarily superseding the 1172197 with the new 1206256 until the 1172197 becomes available again.

b. RC will be providing the 1206256 as an alternate part to fill backorders of the 1172197. This will be handled on an order priority basis. These will start shipping early February.

c. For emergency situations Pressure Switch Part Number IS20224 – 5236 may be substituted.
