The Resideo panel THM5421R is an equipment interface that allows you to connect a thermostat wirelessly or with two wires to this panel next to the furnace. This allows you to have a full blown staged heat pump system with no wires to run from thermostat to the furnace. This allows flexibility in equipment selection and flexibility to move the thermostat to a more desirable location.

Typical Issues:
Main issue is connection issues with the thermostat. Typically people will go to the "Connect Redlink Accessories" screen and find that it will not connect. The solution to this issue is to go in to the thermostat menu, find "Installer Options", then arrow down to "Reset to Defaults". After the thermostat has started, you will select the application, then thermostat name, then it will ask if system is zoned... keep that at a no even if you are hardwiring the EIM into a zone panel, then the one that everyone misses...."TSTAT CONTROLS AN EIM MODULE" make sure to hit yes. Then it will ask you to hit the connect button on the EIM module.
