Here is the manual for the R32 Goodman modulating furnace.
SERVICE TIPS:
- Supply air and Return air sensors (0130F00933 and 0130F00934) are OPTIONAL accessories, and are not required for the system to work properly. The control board is equipped with an "on-board" sensor, which is used for control algorithms. If a return air sensor is added, the control board will average the 2 sensors and use that value for control algorithms.
- The code " IDL " or if you are reading board upside down," 7P1 " is strictly saying that the furnace is idle with no call. This is not a fault code.
- If you are getting the inducer relay fault, EEJ or EEj, you will first want to verify grounding. This is the number one issue. Another thing we have seen is outside electrical issues. It could be a pump or some of appliance on the same leg of the furnace. We have also seen where the insulation on the incoming wire was rubbed off and would arc every once in awhile and kill the inducer relay because it was the weakest circuit in the house. If you have changed a board due to this, be sure to check all the other items we listed before putting on another.
- If you are installing furnace in a non-A2L or R410a setting then you need to shut off the sensor. Otherwise, you will get the blower to come on and the board will Flash "F09" and "EAF" and it will not do anything but that. See article/video here
