Problem Description

ION system displays error codes indicating high temperature conditions occurring over extended periods.

Symptoms

  • High temperature conditions persist even after Air Verification Set-up
  • Temperature probe shows normal readings initially, then spikes significantly
  • Delta temperature exceeds maximum rating of 65 degrees (reaching 63-67 degrees)
  • High limit tripping occurs during operation

Diagnostic Findings

Air Verification Results: - Verify duct verification was done and rerun to see if it changes.

Temperature Readings: -Verify temperature rise as its running. Monitor discharge temperature through ION thermostat.

VERIFY: Clean blower, motor, blower compartment, and Coil

Solution

Factory-Recommended Adjustments:

  1. Heating Airflow Adjustment

    • Change setting from COMFORT to EFFICIENCY 2
    • This increases airflow in heating mode
  2. System Calibration

    • Run Duct Assessment again to improve system accuracy
    • Verify proper airflow distribution

Results

After implementing these adjustments, the high limit issue did not reoccur

Follow-up

Monitor system performance to ensure the adjustments resolve the high temperature limit tripping issue long-term.
